The ABZ Dove Foundation Executive Board seeks dedicated individuals to join our Board in Newport News/Hampton, Virginia. As an Executive Board Member, you will play a vital role in advancing the Foundation’s mission to improve the health and well-being of women, children, and the elderly. Responsibilities include implementing Foundation policies, electing the Executive Director, establishing annual budgets, and coordinating recommendations from committees. Board Members also define and oversee policies and procedures for scholarship programs, community service initiatives, and other impactful projects. Additionally, the foundation is seeking committee members for:
TREASURER: Serves as the Foundation’s fiscal officer and helps oversee financial operations, including maintaining accurate financial records, deposits, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with established financial policies. Serves as Co-Chair of the Finance Committee. Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online is required; proficiency and/or nonprofit financial management experience is preferred.
SECRETARY: Maintains the official records of the Foundation, records minutes of all regular and called Board meetings, maintains attendance records, and ensures meeting minutes are prepared and available in a timely manner. Strong organizational, written communication, and recordkeeping skills preferred.
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & BRANDING: Leads the Foundation’s marketing, branding, advertising, and promotional efforts; promotes brand consistency across communications; assists with event promotion and content development; and serves as Chair of the Marketing/Branding Committee. Experience with social media, digital marketing, graphic design, Canva, or similar platforms is preferred.
